Mechanic

Captain Doggett sailed his American ship Mechanic to Stewart Island in 1837, where he landed nine New Maori seamen he had rescued when their whaleship Cornwallis had been wrecked at the Solomon Islands two weeks earlier, on 01 January. Mechanic then sailed on to arriv at Sydney in mid-February.
